I am a mental health practitioner and experiential educator from the Banjara community—one of India’s historically nomadic and marginalised tribes. My initiative, ade.ventures Outdoor Therapy, grew from a desire to weave inclusion, ecology, and culture into the healing process. Drawing from lived experience, community wisdom, and embodied practice, I create spaces where people can connect, express, and rediscover themselves in nature.
My work focuses on Nature-based and Arts-based Therapy, particularly with neurodivergent individuals on the Autism spectrum. In 2025, I presented my case study on Outdoor Therapy and Autism at the 10th International Adventure Therapy Conference in Taiwan, where I also represented the Banjara community in a cultural exchange.
As IAANT’s National Representative for India, I advocate for culturally rooted and inclusive approaches that honour Indigenous wisdom within and beyond nature-based therapy. My practice is deeply informed by anti-caste, feminist, and decolonial perspectives, with a strong emphasis on accessibility and community collaboration. I also work with local organisations in rural Maharashtra, supporting grassroots efforts in awareness, education, and cultural preservation.
In parallel with my practice, I use visual media to share stories from my Banjara heritage and explore how healing, identity, and belonging intertwine on @ade.venturesx (Instagram). My creative energy often finds its way into movement, colour, and time spent outdoors!
